Soccer Game Preview: Roseland Collegiate Prep vs. Mendocino

The Roseland Collegiate Prep Grizzlies will venture away from home to square off against the Mendocino Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Roseland Collegiate Prep will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Geyserville on Friday. The Grizzlies came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bronchos, sneaking past 4-3.

Roseland Collegiate Prep hit Geyserville with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Iker Rodriguez, Reele Reyes, Christopher Hernandez, and Jonathan Chavez.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Mendocino faced off against Anderson Valley on Wednesday. Neither the Cardinals nor the Panthers could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked Mendocino's first draw of the season.

Roseland Collegiate Prep is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-7-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those four matchups. With that draw, Mendocino's record moves to 6-12-1.

Roseland Collegiate Prep suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Mendocino in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Grizzlies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
