Basketball Recap: Fayette Takes a Loss

Fayette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Belle Tigers, falling 62-41.

When it comes to explaining why Fayette lost, don't look at Kaleb Friebe. Despite the final result, he posted 13 points and six steals. Friebe is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Oeth, who had five points.

Even though they lost, Fayette smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in four consecutive games.

Fayette's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Belle, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Fayette didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-54 defeat against North Callaway on the 20th. Belle has also already played their next contest (against Missouri Military Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
