Softball Recap: Pittsfield Generals vs. Mount Anthony Patriots
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Westfield, Pittsfield was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Mount Anthony Patriots by a score of 8-3. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Generals as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Ava McMahon made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.
