Basketball Recap: Unalaska Takes a Loss

Unalaska was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 36-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Metlakatla Chiefs. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Chiefs are ranked 19th).

Unalaska's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Metlakatla, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.

Unalaska wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 44-37 victory against Cordova on the 22nd. As for Metlakatla, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 48-23 win against Unalakleet on the 22nd.
