Baseball Game Preview: Ballard Beavers vs. Lakeside Lions

The Ballard Beavers will challenge the Lakeside Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Ballard is returning to their home field after beating Kennedy Catholic on theirs, despite the fact Kennedy Catholic has dominated at home this season. The Beavers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Lancers on Saturday.

Ballard saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Wallblom, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Lakeside faced off against Seattle Academy on Wednesday. The Lions narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Cardinals 4-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Ballard is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Lakeside, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
