Basketball Game Preview: Thomaston Bears vs. Windsor Locks Raiders

The Thomaston Bears will take on the Windsor Locks Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Thomaston was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 56-52 to Lakeview.

Meanwhile, Windsor Locks ended up a good deal behind Academy of Aerospace and Engineering on Friday and lost 70-55.

Thomaston will need focus on slowing down Sincere Monroe, one of several Windsor Locks players who made an impact when they last played. He went 10 for 21 on his way to 28 points and five rebounds. Monroe's evening made it 12 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of J'Vion LaBoy, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points and eight boards.

Thomaston's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Windsor Locks, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.

Thomaston came out on top in a nail-biter against Windsor Locks in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, sneaking past 57-55. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Monroe, who posted 23 points in addition to seven assists and seven boards. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Thomaston still be able to contain Monroe? There's only one way to find out.
