Academy for Academic Excellence won the last time they faced Big Bear and things went their way on Thursday too. The Knights put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 11-1 win. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by exactly ten runs.
Haylee Berg was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Berg was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Academy for Academic Excellence got a massive performance out of Hayden Gonzales, who went 2-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Gonzales is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Kayla Berg was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Academy for Academic Excellence now has a winning record of 7-6-1. As for Big Bear, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.
