Baseball Game Preview: Concord Minutemen vs. Goshen RedHawks

The Concord Minutemen will take on the Goshen RedHawks at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Concord is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Concord didn't have quite enough to beat Northridge and fell 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Minutemen have lost by just one run.

Plymouth hit Goshen with a four-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The RedHawks took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pilgrims/Rockies. RedHawks fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Pilgrims/Rockies since on Monday.

Goshen got a good showing from Jensen Meikle, who tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, Meikle didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Braxton Cline was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Concord's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Goshen, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

Concord beat Goshen 3-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Minutemen repeat their success, or do the RedHawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
