Baseball Game Preview: Chagrin Falls Tigers vs. Wickliffe Blue Devils

The Chagrin Falls Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Wickliffe Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Chagrin Falls is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over Manchester. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Meanwhile, Wickliffe beat Pymatuning Valley 10-7 on Saturday.

Frankie Bucar was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Wickliffe is undefeated when Bucar posts two or more runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Blake Ludvik, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Chagrin Falls' win bumped their record up to 12-15. As for Wickliffe, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 15-8.

Chagrin Falls was able to grind out a solid win over Wickliffe in their previous matchup back in April, winning 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
