Baseball Game Preview: Byron Tigers vs. Genoa-Kingston Cogs

The Byron Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Genoa-Kingston Cogs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Byron will be looking to extend their current 19-game winning streak.

Byron will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Dixon, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Tigers put the hurt on the Dukes & Duchesses with a sharp 11-0 victory on Thursday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Genoa-Kingston hadn't done well against Stillman Valley recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Cogs came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 5-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Byron's win was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Genoa-Kingston, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-15 record this season.

Byron took their win against Genoa-Kingston in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
