Volleyball Recap: Avalon Takes a Loss

Avalon saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Calvary Baptist Cougars. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Calvary Baptist can attribute much of their success to Aubrey Gelskey, who had six digs and four assists. That's the most assists Gelskey has posted since back in September of 2024. Noor Okla also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Avalon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Calvary Baptist, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Avalon will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Samueli Academy at 3:15 p.m. on September 26. As for Calvary Baptist, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Valley Christian Academy on the 23rd.
