Mount Abram took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over Boothbay. The win continues a trend for the Roadrunners in their matchups with the Seahawks: they've now won five in a row.

Brennan Mitchell made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit and allowing only one earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Logan Dube was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI and two runs. Ash Rollins was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs.
Mount Abram always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Boothbay only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Old Orchard Beach was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They came up short against Richmond, falling 13-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Seagulls in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost three in a row.
Old Orchard Beach saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wesley Gallant, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Mount Abram pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Old Orchard Beach, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mount Abram has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 stolen bases per game.
