Recap: Broomfield Eagles vs. Brighton Bulldogs

In what's become a running theme this season, the Broomfield Eagles gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They breezed by Brighton at home to the tune of 67-10. The victory was nothing new for Broomfield as they're now sitting on five straight.

Broomfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Paige Gilpatrick led the charge by scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Gilpatrick has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ej Harper, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Brighton struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Broomfield racked up 16 assists.

Broomfield is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Brighton, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Broomfield won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Prairie View at 6:30 p.m. on February 7th. Broomfield knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Prairie View likes a good challenge. As for Brighton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brighton is coming into the matchup with eight straight defeats at home, meaning Fairview will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
