Basketball Game Preview: Snow Canyon Warriors vs. Mountain Crest Mustangs

Snow Canyon has gone a perfect 3-0 against Mountain Crest recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Snow Canyon Warriors will challenge the Mountain Crest Mustangs at 5:50 p.m. Snow Canyon will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Snow Canyon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took down Green Canyon 60-46. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Wolves are ranked 47th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Olivia Hamlin was her usual excellent self, going 13-for-24 en route to 35 points in addition to six boards and six steals. The game was her 50th in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chaylee Andrews, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Mountain Crest beat Desert Hills 65-57 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Snow Canyon pushed their record up to 24-0 with the victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.8 points. As for Mountain Crest, their win bumped their record up to 16-9.

Everything came up roses for Snow Canyon against Mountain Crest in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 76-41 victory. In that match, Snow Canyon amassed a halftime lead of 42-20, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
