Volleyball Recap: Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles vs. Heritage Patriots
Clayton Valley Charter extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-3. They came up short against the Heritage Patriots, falling 3-0. The Ugly Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in September of 2021.
Ava Salamasidis paced Clayton Valley Charter's offense, picking up six kills. Salamasidis got some help from Ella Friedman and her eight assists. Izabela Markiel controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.
As for Heritage, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2. The matchup marked their most dominant win of the season so far.
Heritage's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gigi Ramones led the charge by getting 11 digs and four aces. That's the most aces Ramones has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Camy De La Chevrotiere, who had 15 assists and seven digs.
Clayton Valley Charter has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Pittsburg on the 4th. As for Heritage, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Monte Vista on the 4th.
