Softball Recap: Deer Park's Undefeated Season over After 16 Games

After flying high against North Central on Tuesday, Deer Park came back down to earth. The Stags fell just short of the East Valley Knights by a score of 8-7 on Saturday. The contest marked the Stags' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Sammy Fausti and Jillian Marshall did some serious damage despite the final result: Fausti went 3-for-4 with one triple and one run, while Marshall went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Kapri Bailey, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Deer Park fell to 15-1. As for East Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

While Deer Park had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
