Volleyball Recap: St. Xavier Starts off Right with Win over Cornerstone Family

St. Xavier had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Cornerstone Family Saints by a score of 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Rams, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

St. Xavier had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-11, 25-15, 27-25.

Cornerstone Family is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

St. Xavier will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Peabody-Burns at 7:00 p.m. on October 6. As for Cornerstone Family, they will challenge St. Joseph D at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
