Recap: Withrow Tigers vs. Trotwood-Madison Rams
If the Withrow Tigers were feeling good off their 65-34 takedown of the Springfield Wildcats on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Withrow was the victim of a tough 65-43 loss at the hands of Trotwood-Madison on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Withrow can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 428th, while Trotwood-Madison is ranked 71st).
Trotwood-Madison's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marlon Howard jr, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jermiel Atkins, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Withrow's loss dropped their record down to 2-7-1. As for Trotwood-Madison, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Withrow will head out on the road to face off against Woodward at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Woodward's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Trotwood-Madison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Belmont at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Belmont comes in on four and Trotwood-Madison on three.
