Softball Recap: Thomaston Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Thomaston came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Shepaug Valley Spartans a 3-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-6 back in April.

Shepaug Valley's batters probably weren't too happy with Madison Decker, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 16 Ks (she gave up three walks). Decker has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Addison Patchell, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Thomaston's win bumped their record up to 10-7-1. As for Shepaug Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
