Baseball Recap: Raton Has No Trouble Against Cimarron

The Raton Tigers made easy work of the Cimarron Rams on Monday and carried off a 15-5 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

The team relied heavily on Brayden Decker, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Tapia, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Decker wasn't the only one making solid contact: Raton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cimarron only managed four hits.

Raton's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Cimarron, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Raton will host Estancia at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.5 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cimarron, they will take on Clayton at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
