Josh Martin leads a balanced attack to beat Galva

Recap: LaMoille Lions vs. Galva Wildcats

The LaMoille Lions's game on Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They had just enough and edged Galva out 54-51. This was payback for LaMoille, who suffered a 59-56 defeat the last time these two teams met.

LaMoille's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josh Martin led the charge by scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Martin scored 15 or more points. Brayden Klein was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six steals and five assists.

Galva lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cyrus Lilly, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Braxton Rylander, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.

LaMoille's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Galva, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. LaMoille will challenge Serena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Galva's road trip will continue as they head out to face Biggsville West Central at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Biggsville West Central comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
