Softball Recap: Frontier Wins Going Away Against Liberty

Frontier won the last time they faced Liberty and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Titans blew past the Patriots 12-1. Considering the Titans have won six games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Taylor Sloss was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Charley Hawkins was a standout: she scored a run while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Emma Parnell also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Frontier and bumps their season record up to 10-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Liberty, they dropped their record down to 7-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Frontier will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Garces Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Liberty, they will take on Redwood in a tournament on Monday.
