Basketball Recap: Norton Comes Up Short

Norton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-40 heartbreaker at the hands of the Westwood Wolverines. The Lancers were not able to make up for their loss to the Wolverines from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Norton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Westwood, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

Norton and Westwood should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings. Norton will challenge Bellingham at 6:30 p.m. on Friday up 162 places (137 vs. 299). Meanwhile, Westwood (ranked 98th) will meet Ashland (ranked 289th) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
