Baseball Recap: Fennimore Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Fennimore had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Riverdale Chieftains, sneaking past 6-4. This was a revenge game for the Golden Eagles: when they faced off against the Chieftains back in April, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Noah Needham, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

Fennimore's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Riverdale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.

Fennimore and Riverdale should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Golden Eagles will challenge Boscobel at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (75 vs. 298). Meanwhile, Riverdale (ranked 116th) will meet River Valley (ranked 239th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
