Logan Barbour Delivers Best Effort of Season

Logan Barbour produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Yucaipa to the win on Thursday. Barbour rushed for 260 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 58 yards.

Barbour might have his next game, a road matchup with Redlands, circled on his calendar. Barbour rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns the last time he and the Terriers duked it out back in October of 2023.

On Thursday, Redlands East Valley had to settle for second even though Isaac Vitela put up the best numbers he has all season. Vitela threw for 396 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 75 yards on only eight carries.

This is the second loss in a row for Redlands East Valley and nudges their season record down to 1-7. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Wildcats takes on Beaumont at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Friday, Cajon got the W thanks in part to Evan Powell playing the best football he has all season. Powell wasn't messing around, throwing for 330 yards and six touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes. The match was his third straight with five or more passing touchdowns. Cajon is undefeated when Powell posts 300 or more passing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.
