Volleyball Recap: John Paul the Great Academy Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Christian Home Educators Fellowship, John Paul the Great Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on Old Bethel Christian with a sharp 3-0 win. The Guardians were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on Old Bethel Christian, so the Guardians were just returning the favor.

John Paul the Great Academy never let Old Bethel Christian on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-18, 25-22.

Emily Johnson was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had eight aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Autumn Terrance, who had six assists and four aces.

They weren't the only good server: John Paul the Great Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.

John Paul the Great Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. John Paul the Great Academy will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on First Baptist Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, Old Bethel Christian and Midstate Homeschool will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
