Volleyball Recap: Riverside Finds Home Court Redemption Against San Elizario

There's no place like home for Riverside, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the San Elizario Eagles on Friday. The Rangers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Riverside never let San Elizario on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-18, 25-23.

Daisy Diaz paced Riverside's offense, picking up 11 kills. Diaz really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 13. Sophia Samaniego controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Despite the defeat, San Elizario saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Michelle Medina had five digs and four aces.

Riverside's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for San Elizario, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. After both having extra time off, Riverside and Ysleta will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:35 p.m. on the 14th. As for San Elizario, they will venture away from home to face off against Clint at 6:35 p.m. on the 14th.
