Recap: Valley Regional Warriors vs. Morgan Huskies
The Valley Regional Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their sixth straight loss. They suffered a tough 61-41 loss at the hands of Morgan. While losing is never fun, Valley Regional can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while Morgan is ranked 50th).
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rex Grabowski, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Conor Quinn, who scored eight points along with five assists and four steals.
Valley Regional dropped their record down to 4-14 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Morgan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.
Valley Regional will be playing at home against Fitch at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fitch has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,221 points over their last 17 matches. As for Morgan, they will head out on the road to square off against East Lyme at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Morgan will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something East Lyme surely won't give up without a fight.
