Basketball Recap: Hickman Gets the Win

Hickman won the last time they faced Grain Valley and things went their way on Saturday too. The Kewpies walked away with a 55-45 victory over the Eagles.

Grain Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addy Seyfert, who posted 16 points and eight boards. The game was Seyfert's sixth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Madison Rust, who had seven points along with ten rebounds and six assists.

Hickman now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Grain Valley, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Hickman will square off against Capital City at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Kewpies will be up against the Cavaliers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 64.08 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Grain Valley, they will take on Lee's Summit North at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Broncos have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
