Basketball Recap: Catholic Central Takes a Loss

Catholic Central suffered their biggest loss since December 27, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by the Steubenville Big Red 69-37. The Crusaders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-20.

Steubenville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Santino Haney led the charge by going 5 for 10 on his way to 12 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Davis, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds.

Catholic Central moved to 9-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Steubenville, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Catholic Central will face off against Buckeye Local at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Steubenville, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 92-53 win against River View on the 4th.
