Softball Preview: Peaster Greyhounds vs. Dublin Lions

Peaster is 7-0 against Dublin since March of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Peaster Greyhounds will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dublin Lions at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.

Peaster can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They blew past Comanche 17-3.

Payton Kreh tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, Peaster got a massive performance out of Abigail Wiley, who scored four runs and stole five bases while going 3-for-4. Wiley hasn't dropped below three hits for three straight games. Katelyn Ruddy was another key contributor, going 4-for-4 with four RBI and a triple.

Meanwhile, Dublin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 27-10 walloping at the hands of Early. One positive for Dublin, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Dublin got a massive performance out of Cassidy Adair, who went 3-for-3 with a home run, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloey Rollins, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with four RBI, a triple, and a run.

Peaster's win bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Dublin, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.

Peaster took their victory against Dublin in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 20-2. Will Peaster repeat their success, or does Dublin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
