Baseball Recap: North Clarion Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for North Clarion's offense. They lost 11-0 to the Clarion-Limestone Lions on Wednesday. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

North Clarion saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Pappas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. Pappas has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

North Clarion's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Clarion-Limestone, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Looking ahead, North Clarion will challenge Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Clarion's pitchers better be ready for this one: Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley has averaged an impressive 11 runs per game this season. As for Clarion-Limestone, they will welcome Keystone at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.25 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
