Recap: Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes vs. West Ashley Wildcats
While the Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes couldn't quite beat the West Ashley Wildcats on Monday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 30-point defeat they were dealt last Friday. Ashley Ridge fell just short of West Ashley by a score of 59-57. Ashley Ridge has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Ashley Ridge still got an impressive performance from Jahlil Hope, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Hope has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Davis, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
West Ashley found their leader in underclassman Damani White, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Kendall Mack, who scored 16 points.
Ashley Ridge has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for West Ashley, their victory bumped their record up to 15-7.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Stall the next time they take the court. Ashley Ridge will head out to face Stall at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while West Ashley will host them at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
