Baseball Recap: Windermere Prep's Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Windermere Prep). They blew past the Evans Trojans 24-12 on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lakers needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Peyton Hollern made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs.

In other batting news, Joshua Goldberg was a standout: he scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Nicolas Pe?a was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Windermere Prep hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Evans struck out nine times.

Windermere Prep's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6. As for Evans, their defeat was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Looking ahead, Windermere Prep will welcome Trinity Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity Prep has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.29 runs per game on average), something Windermere Prep will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Evans, they will take on Tournament Opponent on Friday.
