Basketball Recap: Sanai Forrester-Jhagroo's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wesley Chapel over Leesburg

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wesley Chapel can now relate to. They lost 78-54 to the Leesburg Yellow Jackets on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wildcats have suffered since January 4th.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sanai Forrester-Jhagroo, who went 6-for-10 on her way to 17 points. Forrester-Jhagroo's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Dayla Christopher, who posted 13 points along with five boards and three steals.

Leesburg got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ariyana Hester out in front who scored 30 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Saige Mccloud, who put up 20 points.

Wesley Chapel's defeat dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Leesburg, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-9.

Wesley Chapel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Leesburg, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 67-37 win against Lake Wales on the 18th.
