Football Game Preview: Vandegrift Vipers vs. Manor Mustangs

Vandegrift is a perfect 3-0 against Manor since September of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Vipers will be playing at home against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Vandegrift's defense has only allowed 14.7 points per game this season, so Manor's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Vandegrift is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Cedar Ridge to the tune of 46-6 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Vipers in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won eight in a row.

Miles Teodecki had an outrageously good game as he threw for 201 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 53 yards and one score on only six carries. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brock Chilton, who gained 111 total yards and a touchdown.

Vandegrift didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Brady Srncik and Tobias Gray. Srncik got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Manor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 49-14 loss at the hands of Stony Point. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Mustangs, who fell 19-16 when the teams last met back in November of 2023.

Despite the defeat, Manor saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Andre Terry rushed for 103 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries, and also picked up 73 receiving yards. Terry's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 101 rushing yards. Camden Huff was another key player, throwing for 197 yards and one TD.

Vandegrift's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Manor, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything came up roses for Vandegrift against Manor in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 56-6 win. In that matchup, the Vipers amassed a halftime lead of 42-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
