Softball Recap: Gulf Shores Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Gulf Shores picked up another tournament win on Friday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the White Plains Wildcats.

Anna Leigh Price spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kayleigh Jacks, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Anayia McCutchen, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Gulf Shores' victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 18-11-1. As for White Plains, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.

Looking ahead, Gulf Shores will venture away from home to square off against St. Clair County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for White Plains, they will head out on the road to take on Saraland at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
