Basketball Recap: Tanner Rattlers vs. Lindsay Lane Christian Academy Lions
The Tanner Rattlers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They breezed by Lindsay Lane Christian Academy at home to the tune of 66-34 on Saturday. Tanner has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Skylar Townsend, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrell Howard, who scored 12 points.
Tanner is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Lindsay Lane Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 4-21 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road.
Tanner will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Whitesburg Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully the Rattlers like a good challenge. Lindsay Lane Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
