Soccer Game Preview: Clayton vs. Garner + Official Tickets

The Clayton Comets will square off against the Garner Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Clayton will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

Clayton's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against South Garner as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Clayton, who have now won ten matches by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit South Garner with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Chris Serrano, Ethan Hancock-Arroyo, and Alan Trejo-Torres.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Garner ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They beat South Garner by a goal, winning 2-1. Given Garner's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 156th, while South Garner are ranked 313th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Garner's win bumped their record up to 11-6-2. As for Clayton, their victory bumped their record up to 15-2-1.

Clayton was able to grind out a solid win over Garner when the teams last played on October 1st, winning 2-0. Will the Comets repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
