League recap: Lee dominating on the mound for Columbus

6A Region 2 league recap: 4/3/13

6A Region 2's top pitcher this week was Columbus's Trace Lee. He won one game and struck out 20 batters.

Chris Mccullough was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .727 average with eight RBIs. The Falcons went 4-0.

Columbus, the league's stolen base leader this season with 45, added to its lead in that category with 14 more steals over the past week.

The Falcons' McCullough is blazing through the ranks in 6A Region 2 this season as he leads the league in batting average, hits and RBIs. This season McCullough has feasted on opponents pitching with a .500 average and 23 RBIs thanks to 25 hits.

Four batters hit over .400 this week. They were led by Chris McCullough, who hit .727 this week (8-for-11).



Lee led Columbus to a win on March 26, as he notched 13 strikeouts to beat South Panola, 13-2. Over his six innings pitched he allowed two runs on four hits.
