Football Recap: Cypress Creek Falls Despite Big Games from Joaquin Escobar and Jaiden Perez + How To Watch

Cypress Creek extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-4. They came up short against the Stratford Spartans, falling 42-17. Despite 114 more yards than the Spartans, the Cougars couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Cypress Creek's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jaiden Perez, who rushed for 96 yards and one touchdown, and Joaquin Escobar, who rushed for 56 yards and one TD on only six carries.

Stratford's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Stratford's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gavin Guzman, who threw for 154 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in one score on the ground. Cody Hanlen was in the mix too, providing the Spartans with two TDs.
