Recap: Lecanto Panthers vs. Belleview Rattlers
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Lecanto Panthers had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They took down the Rattlers 58-39. That's another feather in the cap for Lecanto, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Belleview's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Albanis Mogollon, who scored 14 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Mogollon has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Armbrister, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
Lecanto is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Belleview, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.
Lecanto will face off against Leesburg at TBD on Friday. Leesburg is coming into the match with 11 straight victories on the road, meaning Lecanto will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. Belleview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
