Softball Recap: Jackson Wins Going Away Against Cascade

Jackson entered their tilt with Cascade on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Bruins. That looming 12-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Timberwolves yet this season.

Allie Thomsen (2025-UW) made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Jackson got a massive performance out of Madi Jacquot (2027), who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave Jacquot (2027) a new career-high. Kiana Holden (2025) was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Jackson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .412 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Jackson's record is now 10-11. As for Cascade, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Jackson will head out on the road to face off against Mariner at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cascade does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
