Basketball Game Preview: Pinellas Park Patriots vs. Dunedin Falcons

The Pinellas Park Patriots will venture away from home to take on the Dunedin Falcons at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 81-41, which was the final score in Pinellas Park's tilt against St. Petersburg on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 581st, while the Green Devils are ranked 148th).

Meanwhile, Dunedin earned a 59-48 victory over Hollins on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Pinellas Park better keep an eye on SHERWIN SIMMONS. He was instrumental in Dunedin's win, shooting 7-for-12 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 29 points and 16 rebounds. SIMMONS has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 14 times he's played. Another player making a difference was DEONTE MACK, who posted three points in addition to eight boards and seven assists.

Pinellas Park's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Dunedin, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.

Pinellas Park came up short against Dunedin when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 64-51. Can Pinellas Park avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
