Basketball Recap: Heath Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Heath entered their tilt with Bexley on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They strolled past the Bexley Lions with points to spare, taking the game 63-45. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Lions are ranked 379th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Heath's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaxon Duston, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 12 points along with six assists and five boards. Another player making a difference was Jordan Kaminsky, who posted 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

Heath pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Bexley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heath will welcome Mt. Vernon at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Heath is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season. As for Bexley, they will be playing at home against Franklin Heights at 7:15 p.m. on January 25th.
