Slater hadn't done well against Concordia recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Fighting Orioles 3-2. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 15-8 victory the Fighting Orioles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Tristen Klasing made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Tytan Wiseman was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. That run was his first of the season. Isaac Larson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

The win made it two in a row for Slater and bumps their season record up to 2-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Concordia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Slater will face off against Fayette at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Concordia, they will take on Sweet Springs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
