Volleyball Game Preview: Manti Templars vs. Gunnison Valley Bulldogs

Manti and Gunnison Valley are an even 4-4 against one another since September of 2015, but not for long. The Templars will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Manti's tournament run continued when they took on Snow Canyon on Saturday. The Templars lost 3-0 to the Warriors. The Templars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Manti was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-21, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Gunnison Valley had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Parowan by a score of 3-2. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Rams 25-18 in the first set.

While Gunnison Valley ultimately came up short, they really made Parowan work, particularly in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-11, 20-25, 26-24, 15-10.

Everything went Manti's way against Gunnison Valley in their previous meeting back in August of 2022, as Manti made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Templars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
