Volleyball Recap: Pinecrest Glades Academy Comes Up Short

Pinecrest Glades Academy lost against Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Dragons came up short against the Stallions, falling 3-0.

Elaine Prieto paced Pinecrest Glades Academy's offense, picking up four kills. Prieto got some help from Ana Otero and her five assists. Finally, Prieto was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) found their leader in sophomore Sophia Miranda, who had nine digs and four aces. Jizelley Reyes also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Pinecrest Glades Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

Pinecrest Glades Academy has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Hialeah Educational Academy on the 14th. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Somerset Academy South Homestead on the 9th.
