Flour Bluff piles up the points against Jarrell

The Flour Bluff Hornets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Jarrell on the road to the tune of 70-43. Given Flour Bluff's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while Jarrell is ranked 368th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the defeat, Jarrell saw an underclassman step up: Aniya Taylor scored 21 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The match was Taylor's 23rd in a row with at least ten points. Lamyre' Fitch was another key contributor, scoring seven points.

Flour Bluff has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Jarrell, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.

Flour Bluff will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Carroll at 12:15 p.m. Carroll is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Jarrell and John Paul II will round out the year against one another at 3:30 p.m. on Friday at.
