Clovis West came out on top against Clovis East on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Golden Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Timberwolves 8-7. The win continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Timberwolves: they've now won three in a row.

Joseph Valadez looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alex Pirok and Peyton Miscione did most of the damage at the plate: Pirok went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Miscione went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That home run marked the first that Pirok has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Jaime Olague, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Clovis West's record now sits at 10-8-1. As for Clovis East, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.

Clovis West will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Timberwolves: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
